A new report says more people are working on weekends and even in bed thanks to their mobile devices. Good Technology recently found that some U.S. workers were doing up to a month and a half of unpaid overtime due to their mobile devices.
The situation seems similar in other parts of the world. British workers work up to three weeks of overtime without pay as they constantly check email. Workers in both countries also say the extra work and equipment are necessary to keep up with the extra workload.
Let’s stay with the subject of mobile, another survey provides interesting results on the subject of online shopping and these mobile devices. A September survey by uSamp shows that men are significantly more involved than women when shopping with mobile devices. In fact, not only are men more mobile than women, they are also more willing to use mobile technology to pay for what they have bought.
The figures show that 45% of men have mobile shopping versus just 34% of women, and there are more gender differences when the numbers are broken down by the categories of items actually purchased. Men like the digital content and electronic devices better than their female counterparts, but the women like the coupons to make purchases like clothes.
After all, if you want to take full advantage of the internet, you need to keep an eye in the rearview mirror. That means you need to take the time to maintain your website links, even if you are into mobile technologies.
You need to make sure that these links have not expired and are still pointing to the website that will give you the right clout on Google and other search engines. Also, remember that it doesn’t matter whether you can work with your mobile devices in bed or on the go, you still need to update your content every now and then to keep the search engines interested.
If you change the content, this is an excellent time to check your backlinks as well to make sure they are still relevant. Often times, when you change the text, the links become damaged or otherwise unusable.
