In this step-by-step guide, I’m going to teach you how to run profitable lead generation campaigns and promote the best solar deals from Clickdealer.

Clickdealer is one of the best and most popular CPA networks out there. They have really good lead generation deals that can make you big money, they have the highest payouts, lucrative industries and an amazing support team always available for your help.

Select offers

It is very important to promote a good offer that is good for your traffic. If the offer sucks, no matter how hard you try, you won’t make it profitable.

For this reason, I always ask my Clickdealer employee to help me choose the right offer for my type of traffic and my industry. So I told him I wanted to target lead generation offers to native traffic sources.

My rep told me that the home service and solar offerings are very good at the moment. Since I have already carried out do-it-yourself campaigns, I decided on solar.

This is my offer:

This offer is for the US only, so I’ll be asking my rep which US states are performing best, and I’ll be targeting those only.

How to Find the Best Working Ads and Landing Pages

Once we have the offer we want to promote, it’s time to get our ads and landing pages ready. The quickest, easiest way to see what type of ads and landing pages are working well in your industry is to spy on your competitors with spy tools.

There are many different spying tools for different types of traffic and since we are going to be working with native traffic we will be using the best spying tool for this which is Adplexity Native.

To find the best ads and countries, I do this.

As soon as I logged in, I set the date filter to 30 days.

Next, I look for a keyword that is relevant to my offering, in this case ‘solar’.

Then I choose the destination country, in this case the USA.

Then I finally sort the ads by getting the most traffic.

The strategy behind this is that the ads that received the most traffic mean that they spent a lot of money on them, so they have been seen many times by the Adplexity spying tool. That means they are working and most likely profitable.

After that, I’ll just go through the results to see the ads and countries they are running, and to get some ideas for my own ads. Usually the first 10 ads that come up are the best.

As you can see right now, US solar offerings are the most popular on Outbrain and RevContent.

How to Track Your Campaigns

Campaign tracking is extremely important, one of the most important things in affiliate marketing. If you don’t track your campaigns, you won’t get critical data needed to optimize your campaigns.

If you don’t optimize your campaigns, you won’t be able to make those campaigns profitable.

Because when you run campaigns your ads will show up on hundreds of different websites and placements and if you don’t use tracking you will never know which ones will work well and which ones will burn your money.

Proper tracking is also very important here.

My favorite tracking tool out there is RedTrack.

red trail

I’ve tried and tested several tracking tools in the past, but I keep coming back to Redtrack simply because it’s the best on the market.

Redtrack gives you a 14 day free trial (no cc required) so you can try it out without paying anything upfront.

If you need help setting up Redtrack, this is something you can check out Step-by-step guide on how to set up everything you need for proper tracking.

How to start your first native campaign

After you’ve set up tracking and prepped your ad text and images, the next step is to launch your campaign on the traffic source you selected.

For this guide, we’ll use RevContent, one of the most popular sources of traffic for our industry.

First, log into your RevContent account and click the Create Campaign Boost button.

Then the first thing you need to do is name your campaign, select a bid type and daily budget, and create a conversion pixel if necessary.

Next we need to select the type of traffic that is Native and then set the GEO targeting. We will be targeting the US and also uploading our list of the best converting zip codes we got from Clickdealer.

For device targeting, I’ll initially only choose desktop and then start another campaign only for mobile devices. It’s important to separate desktop and mobile campaigns as the bids are different.

So I’m targeting desktop, Windows OS only, and my target language is English.

Next is the UTM tracking section. If you’re using a tracker like Redtrack (which you should) this is where you need to paste the tracking tokens from your Redtrack link.

So go to redtrack, choose your campaign and copy the link

Paste it into a notepad and copy everything after that? in your url.

This is what you need to put in the UTM tracking area in Revcontent

Next, you need to add your destination url which is the first part of the link that you saved in a notepad.

Then paste it into the Destination URL box

Then your ad text will be inserted in the “Headline” field and you will need to upload your ad image. Then click Submit.

Now you have to wait for the approval team to approve your campaign and that’s it.

Optimize your campaigns

Once your campaign goes live on RevContent, you will need to collect some data first before you can start optimizing.

I like to wait 1-2 days to make sure I have enough data to adjust placements, etc.

Then I start reviewing the reports and analyzing the rankings data.

The first thing I want to do is stop any widgets that are spending more than the offer payout without getting any conversions.

I repeat this step regularly every day to get rid of bad rankings as soon as possible.

Next, I’ll check the creatives.

I started with 5 different ads and now I’m going to compare them and stop the worse ads.

Once I find my winning ad, I’ll create a few more variations that are very similar and test those too to see if I can get any better results.

Small adjustments to your ads can have a big impact on the performance of your campaigns.

Scaling profitable campaigns

Of course, once your campaign is profitable, you’ll want to scale it even further. You can start with small adjustments, such as: B. Increase your daily budget or increase the bids on your profitable placements.

If you do this, you will need to regularly monitor your campaigns performance to make sure that it remains profitable. If not, try lowering your bids slightly and see what happens.

You should also try to lower the bids for your average performing placements and raise bids once for the best performing placements.

You should also try starting a whitelisted campaign that ONLY targets your top performing placements.

To scale even further, try different traffic sources as well. For example, you can get your successful ads and landing pages and start new campaigns with the same setting on a different native access source such as Outbrain or Mgid.
